The State and Local Area Advisory Councils are open to consumers ages 16-29. We encourage Youth and Young Adult Consumers to come and experience empowerment in relation to their experiences with a mental health diagnosis, substance use (and recovery) and the mental health system in Massachusetts. No voice at our councils goes to waste. We are organized as experts due to our lived-experience. We are part of a statewide effort to re-shape services for the better. Personal Links / Recommendations

We here at the Statewide Youth Advisory Council are not Doctor’s, nor do we always agree with clinical classification. The pages below are outside links which represent our feelings on certain “circumstances” that may be assisted through certain Mental Health professionals/providers and the services/assistance they offer. The pages below are meant to help, not define, individuals on their journey of recovery. They are pages we would personally recommend that we feel represent us individually.

Matthew McWade’s “Worth” Pages:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schitzophrenia The Wikipedia web page for “schizophrenia” (I identify with the “paranoid” link, mid-page, where Schizophrenia is broken into categories).

http://www.aaboston.com/ The Official AA web page of Boston Massachusetts.

http://www.ramdass.org/ The official web site for Hanuman devotee Ram Dass, an individual whose teachings have sustained me through many hospitalizations.

http://www.nami.org/sstemplate.cfm?section=SchizophreniaSurvey A sub page of the NAMI web site dealing with drawing public awareness towards “truths” relating to living with schizophrenia.

http://www.mentalhope.com/ A consumer run web page promoting recovery through consumer alliance.
