Diverse Communities
Consumers, patients and ex-patients, people who have experienced extreme emotional states, those with or without diagnoses, come from every walk of life. We are rich, poor, black, white, English speaking and not, of varying abilities. Most of us have endured some type oppression, trauma or discrimination. We know what it feels like to be left out, overlooked or wrongly judged. Yet somehow we may grow, gradually becoming stronger, turning our pain and our strengths into gold. In recognition and appreciation of this wealth, the Transformation Center is committed to drawing from the richness of diversity found within our numerous communities, for the benefit of all. One day we hope to reach out to those not included here now, wherever we may be.
